Not without him going in to the bank. If he has online/phone access or checks he can easily liquidate to another (yours?) israeli bank account.
Thanks.
If u work for a living, why kill urself working?

I have an old bank hadoar account from my time living in Israel. For various reasons we left a balance in it when we moved back to the US several years ago. Any idea how I can get that money out from overseas?

if i remember correctly bank hapoalim charges 4.5 nis a book. And they also provide a free one once in awhile. I could be wrong though.

thats a tough one- i would get a check book- and write a check to a friend with an israeli account- and have him liquidate it. MAke sure to close it  afterword, there are stories of people getting hit with alot of fees.

I don't think it makes much of a difference. Hapoalim has student accounts (25 checks for 4.5 shekels)
Leumi also has student accounts. And Doar is free (not sure how much checks cost...)

Well, first you should know- It's illegal to cancel checks. But I think you'd call the bank and tell them the check number you want to cancel. But you must have a valid reason for doing so, otherwise the person can still cash your check, have it bounce, then file a complaint against you (aka sue you) which would lead to freezing all your assets.

I am looking into this bc of some jerk who is trying to cancel 3 checks he wrote to me.

Is it illegal or its illegal without a good reason? Let's say I lost my checkbook?
What happens if I have no other assets? Nothing is in the bank here, I'm an american

illegal without a good reason.  I am sure you're allowed to cancel lost checks.

Is only difference between Schwab and TD the $2500 minimum for TD? Any advantages for TD?
