Trying to get the companion pass for 2017-2018. The website states can take up to 6 weeks for Marriott to transfer the points. Based on experience, how long has it taken? Is it safe to do it now to ensure it hits after 1/1/17 or wait until late Dec? Thanks.

Wait until 1/1.
Should only take a few days.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Should I do this at 00:00 am EST?  Or wait until morning 1/1?

Why not do it at 12:001 or a few minutes later? I'm not sure why those are the two options.

Eh, I think you're overestimating the number of people that will take advantage of this and underestimating Marriott's phone staff. There may be a short period of time (e.g., right after the MS post) that the lines are busy, but that's what the elite lines are for :).

Just play it safe and do it tomorrow morning, what difference is 12 hrs going to make for your CP?
