Toronto:

The Jewish community is broken up in to three main areas
1. "Down South" which is in the area of Bathurst and Lawrence
2. Clanton Park which is a little further north around Bathurst and Sheppard
3. Thornhill which is even further north @ Clark and Bathurst

Downtown, without any traffic is 25 from down south, 30 minutes from clanton park and 35 minutes from Thornhill. Expect those numbers to almost double during rush hour.

My husband and I are looking to go away in Toronto or nearby vicinity for 2 days/1 night this coming Sunday/Monday.  Does anyone have any suggestions of hotels and things to do.  We have Amex MR points and SPG points - but no status :-(

Thank you.

Not new, but have you tried Umami Sushi?

And go to Marky's and get a pastrami, chopped liver sandwich on kaiser.

so where is the best place to change us dollars to canadian dollar
If you are doing a small amount just go into any bank in Canada. For larger amounts (thousands of dollars) it is probably worth it to go to one of the Frum money changers in Toronto.

I was there recently and had to choose between using my CC and pay cc company 3% fee or using USD dollar for dollar. With the rate as it is, they both come out the same! So when I used a $20 to pay for something and got back canadian change dollar for dollar, that was basically the same rate I wold get at any $ changer.
