it depends. sometimes it will be cheaper to transfer sometimes not.

Who says JetBlue promo wasn't successful?

A friend of mine who works at JetBlue said that the promo was intended for people who accrued the virgin miles through flying, not thru cc transfers. Says it was a hectic week at the office and they considered pulling the promo but they're Jetblue so they didn't. Heads probably rolled though.

Got 3 E-mails so i opted in for 10,000 miles on each.
Some time last year virgin had a few email signups including a 5,000 elevate points when you open a new account. With 6,000 elevate and a few paid transfers to other elevate accounts with matching info on milage plan accounts, I was able to get 12,500 on each of the 3 accounts. Thanks Virgin and Alaska!

Yes, but they said they need to credit it to the new account and then they'll combine them, which could take up to 24h. That was at 11:30 today, so far nothing (as expected).

You can call in and speak to a supervisor, very helpful.

Similar to your situation, but I followed through the link that said:

 "Already a Mileage Plan member?No need to activate a new Mileage Plan account if you already have one. Just let us know your existing account number here. We'll automatically deposit 10,000 bonus miles in your account.".

Just waiting for mileage to show even though further down in the email it says:

"Choice of 10,000 bonus miles or $100 discount is valid only for active members of Virgin America Elevate as of December 5, 2016 who were not members of Alaska Mileage Plan.".
I'll keep you guys updated.

I called in yesterday and explained that I never had my miles posted. So they went ahead and added them manually. The next day the original miles posted as well. That's What I Call a successful double-dipping.
