If you find a good price on an hp this is a good idea although one is almost certintly going to use an hp warrenty in 4 years but likely for a high school student to need it anyway http://store.hp.com/us/en/ContentView?eSpotName=Risk-Free-Care-Pack&storeId=10151&catalogId=10051&langId=-1

Stay far away from Acer, horrible support!

I would look at this find by Yaalili, from the laptop master thread

Dell - Inspiron 15.6" Touch-Screen Laptop - Intel Core i5 - 6GB Memory - 1TB Hard Drive - Black for $349.99 after $150 price drop from Bestbuy.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/dell-inspiron-15-6-touch-screen-laptop-intel-core-i5-6gb-memory-1tb-hard-drive-black/5588602.p?skuId=5588602
If it's not free shipping it's not worth it.

Here's an even better one:

https://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/en_US/pdp/Lenovo-Z50-75-Signature-Edition-Laptop/productID.2740240000

AMD FX-7500 2.10 GHz with Turbo up to 3.30 GHz
8GB DDR3 1600 MHz
1TB 5400 RPM HDD

And if you have any sort of .edu email you'll get some % off, I don't remember what though.

Great help everyone! :)

That Dell does look better that the Acer Aspire for our son.
Dell>Acer
6Gb RAM>4GB RAM
Core i5>Core i3 although is 5th gen v 7th gen.
Dell has touchscreen too.  I don't think the Acer does.

So, from your links above I see it's same price ($349.99) from Best Buy whether I buy from Best Buy online or Best Buy on eBay.
So is buying from one platform better than the other?
Thanks!

Best buy rewards only on bestbuy main site.
If you use any sort of cashback sites.. (the one i use gives more for bestbuy then ebay)

Thanks!
Looks good but only 4H battery life compared to 10 for the Acer.
Big difference there.  You know how these kids are always draining their devices....
