Its a knock off,I wouldn't take It for free. But for someone who doesn't care much about buying knock off sd cards the the great price.

I had one die once, but that was a really cheap knockoff I got on ebay. I got my money back, but lost some pictures. Not worth it IMO.

If you find the thread from something fishy about sd cards, it's written there as well to stay away from such cards.(I only use sandisk and Lexar originals from amazon or costco...)

+1 Same exact story. Lost some great pictures, luckily we had another camera on that trip.

These cards often only have 8GB on them, and are corrupted to show 128 GB. If you go over 8 GB, the items on storage will be lost. You can use a simple software to test the actual capacity before using it.

Can a low quality SD card do any damage to the device or only itself? Say I want to use for local storage on a laptop for files that are backed up on my office server but I don't have remote access.
