Parking in Jerusalem
« on: January 20, 2017, 08:30:10 AM »
We're arriving at the Lev Yerushalyim a little after midnight and the hotel has informed us that the parking lot will be closed. The lady on the phone said that I worry too much and we'll find parking "somewhere" but she wouldn't get more specific.

Any ideas where we can park near the hotel late at night? A lot is preferred but street is OK if it's even available.

Shes right, you're worrying too much.
Park anywhere and don't pay the ticket if you get it.

A ticket is one thing, getting towed would be a lot worse!

I have relatives who will be staying in Yerushalayim at their friends' apartment, which is in the vicinity of Strauss and Yafo. They want to rent a car the whole time because they're going to be all over the place, but they're worried about parking (I can't think of a worse area for that). Any suggestions? They probably don't mind paying for overnight parking each night if it's reasonable.

Here is a list of parking lots and hours in Jerusalem (maybe the shuk one is good for them):

What's the simplest way to pay for on-street parking all around Israel for a tourist?

They are moving away from munimeters but the apps I have tried won't allow signup for a tourist.

Thanks. Doesn't seem to have info on overnight though. I think I saw 1 lot that lists an overnight price. Does that mean all the others don't offer overnight parking?

I think overnight you should be able to find street parking, the only caveat is that you may have to wake up early to avoid a ticket (in some places 7:30am). I am sure that there are lots that do overnight but unfortunately don't have the info on them.
