They're great! Next time you're here pick some up. They're around $2.50 each. No they're, not double wrapped. So you can kasher the microwave or wrap them yourself.

I got them at Glatt Mart. They used to have different packaging.

Lol, maybe you know someone who lives here who can send some to HI for you? Cambridge will probably also have.

As anyone familiar with the airport will know, flights usually take off to the west, over the ocean. Because of the storm we had, we actually took off to the east and have to do the turnaround over the city which was cool.
Sure it wasn't like this;D

Yup, that happened because they also took off to the east. You don't run into mountains over the ocean.

Thanks Yehoshua, great TR! I love when people post pics of the Air BNB rentals, and all of your pictures were gorgeous! How old is DD?

I can include a link to the Airbnb too, if anyone is interested. DD turned 11 months just after we got back.

Thanks, it's always good for future reference!

I prefer to travel with kids under 1 year or over 3 years when possible. We went to Eretz Yisrael when my youngest was 9 months and it was great, he wasn't able to get into too much trouble and he was easy to carry around. We waited for our  next big trip until he was 3 and we went to Hawaii. By then he was really able to participate in the activities and was old enough to wait when needed (with lots of bribes)!

Uh, oh. I hope that doesn't mean we're doomed for our next trip in June when DD will be 16 months.

not doomed but certainly you should it expect it to be more challenging then with a 11mo old.

I do expect it to be more challenging, but I guess it really depends on the demeanor of the child.

for sure. hardest part of me at that age was the flight. next time around I got him his own seat and strapped him into the car seat. world of a difference.

Even in F/J?

Even in F/J?

To each their own.. but ive never flow in J in my life!

Although to be honest I did once when the luggage fee was equal to the upgrade fee for the short haul flight I was taking.

That probably makes a big difference. Holding a sleeping kid for 5 hours without moving for fear of waking him up is what did me in.

It definitely depends on your kid, all of mine are boys (surprise surprise!) and sitting still was very hard for them. If you are well prepared with activities and treats you should be ok. You also need to be a little flexible with your plans, as long as you don't get bent out of shape when plans change.
Another tip for international trips (it took me until my 4th child to actually agree to this) is to use melatonin to help with jetlag for the kids and it really helped with the crankiness factor. I think it's not recommended for under 2 though.

Interesting about the melatonin. I know about it for adults, but would have to ask a Dr. for babies. All our long flights are eastbound though, which I far prefer to westbound flights over 3+ time zone changes. Thanks for the tip though!
