Still debating if it's worth it to give up the free upgrades every 2 years.. With 10 phones on the plan it's easily worth $3000 every 2 years
I am a little confused. I thought that they recently got rid of free upgrades every 2 years for everyone. At least thats what I was told.

So I still have the grandfathered plan with 400 minutes and 250 texts although I don't talk or text that much so don't really need more. Should I switch though to this new plan? Per their website

"On all Verizon Unlimited plans you get our fast LTE speeds. To ensure a quality experience for all customers, after 22 GB of data usage on a line during any billing cycle we may prioritize usage behind other customers in the event of network congestion. While we don’t expect to do that very often, network management is a crucial tool that benefits all Verizon customers. If you’re on Verizon Unlimited, you’ll have the same coverage and reliability as everybody else."

But I don't foresee needing more than 20GB per month anyway. Thoughts?
400 minutes sounds like something you may occasionally use up. 22gb is a lot, and you might not even feel it even if you do go over.

I would compare the costs and go with the new plan if the same or cheaper.

Can someone explain how one goes about upgrading their phone? I haven't done it in a few years and the process looks totally different now?

All these threads are so confusing. Maybe they should be merged.

I know someone on T-Mobile who used 50-75 GB a month and was never slowed down.

I'm on t-mobile and have been noticeably throttled after crossing their 28gb/month threshold.

Remember when comparing to T-Mobile's offering that T-Mobile includes taxes and fees in the price. That makes a huge difference. For one line Verizon's $80 plan will probably cost $95+ vs. T-Mobile's $70.

I think we all know that all companies are cheaper then Verizon. Some people are willing to pay a premium for Verizon

obviously not enough people or they wouldn't keep lowering their prices.

As the old saying goes: everything has a price (or alternatively: "everything is for sale at the right price").

Many here are willing to pay more (in points or dollars) for long-distance flights in J, but most wouldn't do it at standard rates, only at saver rates.

While Verizon is fully aware of their premium value proposition, there is a point where people will be willing to settle for less for a lower price.

Also, on the one hand competitors can keep on trying to catch up to the network quality, and on the other hand Verizon has already recovered some of their sunk costs of their network (though these things seem to constantly be upgraded).
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

I know trade-ins from another company they will give you a credit towards a phone, what about a Verizon trade-in.
