Thanks,  I'm thinking I'm probably just better off with one used one, unless I'm compromising anything? as the rest of my tires have 8 "32 left (rear have a little more)  according to a tire shop took it to
If you trust the guy a used tire is fine.
Around my parts they will get you the same tire as is on your car. You just need to let them know where the car is parked.  :)
"LESS IS MORE" It is the cumulative effect that kills deals!!! How many times do I have to say this?  >:(

TREADS PEOPLE, TREADS! NOT THREADS! threads are the grooves along the side of the air valve. Treads are what give tires the grip and get worn down!!

And there I was thinking there's another part to the tire that I've never heard of, which makes things match...

I was thinking how interesting that it's spelled threads and pronounced treads.   :D

Last two comments made me laugh.
It just goes to show how the magnificent, logical brain works.  Even though I know the correct word and even used it in this discussion

Do you know what caused it?  Was there a puncture or is the tread separating?
If the tread is separating,...

I didn't process the misuse of the word 'thread' when I was responding to a previous post since I was too focused on processing the point I was about to make.  This phenomenon is quite frequent in use when dealing with CSRs.  Issue A is quite often overlooked when the focus becomes issue B.  (Hamavin yavin.)

Ended up buying 2 used tires in good condition  (about 70%  tread left ) so that they match,  the guy was saying my other front tire has around 50% left..do so its better to match.

Even at only 50% it can be a great spare if you have room to spare (ie, attic in parent's house  :) ).

What did the parents do wrong that they become the storage for all the kids? (seems like most the world does that!)
