*TIME SENSITIVE* How many Idaho potatoes are in a 5 pound bag?

I've begun starting my kugel on 450 degrees.
How long should it stay on 450 before I lower it to 350?  How much longer should it stay in the oven?
What's the maximum time I can keep it in the oven on 350? I warm my food in the oven and my kugel is getting too crispy and dry.

I bake it on 425 for an 1hr and 40 minutes.
 And then take it out of the oven to serve..

 If you would want to bake it overnight,and make an overnight kugal you would bake it for the same 1hr and 40min and then put a pan of water underneath and lower the oven to 200 and cover the kugel with a piece of silver foil.

Curios to know how you guys make the kugal do you use an S blade to make the kugal or the normal way with an extra fine grater attachment to the cuisinart? 
 For the eggs and onions(salt/pepper) I use the S blade but to grind the potatoes I only use an ultra fine grater.

Your making a mashed potato kugal..
Why wouldn't you always use a kugal extra fine shredding blade and grade the potatoes and then with the S blade grind/blend the onions,salt,pepper and eggs. After put aside in a bowl, and combine with the grated potatoes. While doing this preheat the oven to 425 with a 1/2 cup of oil and then make a small indent in the mixture and pour the oil and mix slowly (so you shouldn't get burned). And flatten the 9x13 or what ever size kugal your making, with a spatula or your hands. And place uncovered in the oven for 1hr40m..

Extra fine on a cuisnart is not so ultra fine... I've been searching for such a blade for a long time

I have one medium blade which came with my machine and then I bought an ultra fine (which is very small holes) for around $25 on amazon.

I don't have a very fine blade.  My S blade is my finest.  I'm satisfied with the texture of my kugel, though.

I got this one recently but really unimpressed it makes long thin strips... we prefer it a bit more mushy but without liquifing it with an s blade
