*TIME SENSITIVE* How many Idaho potatoes are in a 5 pound bag?

So peel the whole 50lb bag, and we can Kugel (it's a verb too) all night.

Which leads me to wonder, why didn't you just empty the bag, and divide the 10 equal-sized piles of potatoes. Or even just three piles so you'd have ~16.7 pounds that you can then divide to 3 so you have three batches of just over 5lbs each.

Although this method is probably most accurate, you could also just place potatoes loosely into the 9 x 13.  That's how many potatoes you need for a kugel that fills the pan.

What a night,never thought baking a kugal in a commercial kitchen can be so complicated, First put together the ingredients Potatoes (Thanks to the DFF first responders),Eggs,onions,salt,pepper,oil,9x13 pans(could have technically doubled the recipe(for each two I made), but a good thing I did not, each kugal had its own taste.
 Never actually did cooking in a commercial kitchen I had no clue where to find a cuisinart to grate the potatoes and onions, after 20+ min I found some pieces and played around till something clicked and made sense, started grating the potatoes but was no good, blade was a really weird piece, didn't grate the potatoes it just crushed the liquid out of the potatoes, so had to clean up the whole mess I made on the fleishig side and move all the potatoes and transfer to michig kailem, the milchig side had some better grating tools, took one two three after I got all the tools and right settings on the big commercial machines, Then to top it all off when I came to bake the kugal I had no clue what temperature to use on the oven as it was a commercial oven and they work different(different amount of heat) there were settings for low and high fan, had the crust nice and crispy as the oven worked pretty strong.
 And the time I finished It was pretty late and lost my appetite, but don't worry I forced myself to eat it (was pretty good,you guys missed out)all the pans I made were scrapped to the bottom.
 Now I'm well prepared for the next time I will be around a commercial oven and rock up a good hot kugal.
 Thanks again guys for your help, I put around 15 potatoes and was perfect to fit each 9x13.

And to AsherO the reason I didn't divide them was it was actually in a big cardboard box filled with potatoes, assuming it was 50Pnds didn't even look what it was, though I did take a few pictures of the boxes and baking, if a get flicker accnt up and running I can attach some pics.

Don't have much of a choice when your stranded away from home at this time of the week and only have left with one option to get your thursday night kugal, so commercial kitchen did the job.
