Hotels have housekeeping staff to turn rooms during the evening? Or is this just a gimmick and they are really finding another way to market available inventory?

Seems like it's based on availability; so if they have empty rooms that night anyways, this site has access to those rooms. You can watch this weeks episode of shark tank. Altho they didn't explain themselves very well which ended without a deal

Its a cool idea for a mid day vacation, wonder if they have rooms with a jacuzzi

I think gimmick.
No way the industry can change the whole model so easily.

As well as one day Buisness trips. So you have a place to crash and freshen up.

So like I said, it's just another way to market available inventory. Wonder what happens if you stay the night, hotel's systems might not be programmed for this kind of rate.

Not surprised they couldn't explain themselves, doesn't seem so thought out to me.

Many European airport hotels (maybe USA also, just my experience is in Europe) offer day rates at 1/2 -2/3 of the regular rate.

Hilton have a rate that its called a day rate.

Rate Details DAY USE

DAY USE AVAILABLE 10AM TO 6PM ONLY

I use it a lot when i have a long connection, have been around for et least 13 years (Since im in the travel business...)
