I do know that USAA has a phenomenal checking account with no minimums, free checks (order 100 at a time), free ACH transfers in and out (extremely useful), remote deposit with great funds availability, ATM fee rebates. Like everything. I would assume that if you abuse they shut you down.

Discover has something similar (though I think they don't put a $1 threshold for purchases), and their T&C specifically talk about breaking up transactions, etc. etc.

I think they would shut you down before it really has a chance to cause real harm.

Back in the day when Chase Freedom was giving 10 points per swipe, I did quite a bit (using a script) in Amazon GC reloads of 50 cents at a time. After a couple of months, Chase changed my account to no longer give those. But it was really nice to get 20 UR or more per $ at Amazon while the going was good.
