We used to walk our babysitters back home at night due to security concerns. Since the advent of Uber, we've decided it is easier to do that.

However, we realize that isn't safe either. So now we hire a security guard to follow the Uber driver in their own car, and I chase behind the security guard on foot in case he is a criminal. I know what you're thinking, but there are a ton of lights in Crown Heights, I can usually keep up.
I guess there's a good reason it is called כאן צוה...
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

I tell people I don't really have time, but I'll pay for the Uber if the money is an issue. I rarely get taken up on offer.

(There are plenty of people that have access to or no idea how to use Uber, though.)
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

There are lady drivers in uber/lyft as well.

Also, i think they should be more reliable then any other cab since you can rate the driver and see their rating too.

Either way, I never heard of one story about an uber driver except one where the actual driver was beaten up by a drunk passenger.
I'm assuming you're single and still believe you can reason with the opposite gender.

Most don't see the point of hat tips either other than a handful of rare gifts.

I was kind of surprised that parents are allowing their kids to travel like that.

I once offered a friend a ride to the airport. He declined since he already had a ride set. Then shortly before the flight, he calls and asks if he can take me up since the other guy cancelled.

I said sure and drove him to the airport for his flight. As we're saying good bye, he tells me "your a life saver, I don't know what I would have done without you" me thinking I know what you have done!  shell out a whopping $40!!

I agree with the OP, for the most part these should be a thing of the past. To me, when someone makes it clear that they want the ride purely for economic reasons, I have even less interest in taking them. I think it's selfish too to assume other should spend their time so you should save a dime.

It's $30 usually and with kids and luggage people often need XL which is $50. Also at CLE some Ubers require pickup at the parking garage which is a pain to get to. The biggest problem in CLE is not having an Uber available to the airport in the morning and scheduling one doesn't always work.
Interesting. You're the one that lives out of town and would be asking Dan to pick you up or take you, right?
