Same exact principle.
I'm a little shocked DDFers are even asking this.
I've seen this on united as well

Same for any airline with saver and standard space.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

I've also thought about if I should do kids in J but I do think you can just explain that it's because you got a crazy deal (my kids already know I'm a points dork and that's why we have stayed in such fancy hotels and suites) and I wouldn't waste money on those types of rooms.  With the whole Virgin merger with Alaska arbitrage I transferred a bunch of SPG to Alaska and am planning to book to Israel in J on CX for what ends up to be about 38k SPG.  I definitely don't want kids expecting those flights normally but will just honestly tell them it was similar points to normally flying y.

And she will be back in Y again presumably. Just explain that sometimes it can make sense to fly fancier because it is cheaper.
explain that it's because you got a crazy deal
like this, thanks

in that case SPOIL AWAY!!!!
I actually booked that for the way there. But I don't call that F :)

Don't worry about it. It is when you are in first and she is coach is when they start asking questions.
As of right now, that's what happened. there was one seat in F, i have it on hold, and still waiting for another to open

I'm a little shocked DDFers are even asking this.
+1

I took my kids JFK-LAX in J during the glitch.  They were 11, 8 and 5.  While they enjoyed J, they were more excited about going to LAX than anything else... I wouldn't sweat it...
We each have our own level with this. Based on my lack of travels as a child, frankly I'm concerned with taking a kid on a plane for any vacation.
We live in LAX, and travel frequently for simchas etc. So it's exciting to travel, but not the once in a lifetime it was for us as kids.

That's premium economy vs economy.
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

I think that traveling at all is a luxury for most people and I try to make sure my kids appreciate that fact. They know that the only reason we are lucky enough to do so is thanks to DD and DDF.

That said, I would definitely take my kids in J/F. As far as getting used to it, I think that as long as you explain that this is a treat and not always possible, it's fine. To be honest, I have a hard time flying Y (it's not just kids that can get spoiled!)

The adults seem to get spoiled much faster than the kids do, from what I see. (The kids that do get spoiled and stuck up seem to be affected more by what they see and hear from their parents than the actual experience.) It's a bit repulsive the way some view the economy passengers. Some adults seem to start thinking that they're somehow better than economy passengers, because they happen to have a nicer seat. It might be a good idea for a thread whether it's advisable for adults to fly premium, but somehow I don't think such a thread would go over too well.

I hear that! DH and I flew from LA on AA last week, I was upgraded to J and he wasn't. I felt so bad for him, and at least I got to heat up BYOK for him but I realized how spoiled I am when I walked to the back to bring him his food.
