How many people are going to use the 5x on hotels when you can only book through amex, and don't receive points or stays for your booking?

Ppl who travel only a few times a yr and won't get status for booking the stay anyway

Unlimited free gold cards is awesome for amex offers. Considering the gold card only gets 5 free aus, this is good stuff.

If it's just for amex offers couldn't you just get unlimited green cards?

 The Membership Rewards earning business charge cards (i.e. excluding the Plum) allow you to add lower tier employee cards. For example, if you had an Enhanced Platinum Business Card, you could add an employee card that was a Business Green Rewards Card for no fee, or an employee Business Gold Rewards card for $45

I believe you can have up to 99 free for business I'm not sure if it applies to personal as well

I'm not understanding, if you are a frequent traveler, it's of less value as you will want to earn points and status. If you seldom travel, how would it be a worthwhile perk to get an extra 2ppd (over CSR) for a few stays a year?

That's a lame reason for saying the Plat is better, especially with its inflated AF.

I hear. Supposedly, a big part of the reason they "spiced up" the Plat was to compete with the CSR... So when comparing to CSR it's not a worthwhile perk, for those who don't have the CSR this may be worthwhile. I'll stick with my CSR and BP personally...

1. MR>UR at least if you are using at 2c vs 1.5c (UR=4.5% back MR =10% back)
2. Even some people who are only taking a vacation a couple times a year can spend thousands of dollars on hotel stays.

on every $1k in hotel spend its $65 more back.

Didn't check your math, but for your calculations to be corrected you would need the BP as well thus adding another AF, but not receiving many of the benefits, as you already have them from the plat
