Who else here was disappointed when Amex didn't announce removing the restrictions of selected airline, and more annoyingly, limited to an US airline, when they announced the upcoming changes to the biz Plat card?

I never expected them to do it so I wasn't really disappointed but it sure would be nice.

You don't think that the CSR has a big advantage over the Biz Plat that you can use it for any fare on any airline? It's one thing to limit it to your selected airline, at least that makes some sort of sense, but why limit the ability to choose any airline? What did the US airlines do to deserve that?

The reason I don't value the CSR's 1.5 redemption that much is because usually you'll get more value with an award ticket, that's not to say it can't be valuable but for someone who has the knowledge, it's usually not worth it. The reason the 50% back is so valuable is because you can get much closer to, or sometimes even surpass, the value that you can get for award flights on certain routes.
