They also have to steam the oats first which may be a chometz issue

That would just mean is not matzah. Wouldn't mean other people shouldn't eat it
Shouldn't eat it for the mitzvah
I wonder if it's not dagan if it's kitniyos

Saw these in Lakewood npgs for 28 dollars, wonder if they taste any better?
The second box from Pupa doesn't say 18 minutes! The first box of hand matzos does. I find the hand matzos too thick and hard to eat. I only found one machine matzo that was normal and still 18 minutes.

What do you think the 18 minutes means? All matzo need to be baked within 18 minutes. When a box of machine matzo says 18 minutes it means they shut down and cleaned the machine every 18 minutes which some are lenient about. Hand matzo they always take a break every 18 minutes.

Are any of these gluten free options available in Israel? Want to know if I should be bringing or if I can buy there.

Also, wondering if the Yehuda matzah style is available in Israel. Its made there but I heard in the past it has not been available in stores

I bought my son oat matzah.
He took one bite and said it was worse than marror!
It's not simple that oats really are one of the חמשת מיני דגן but it is the only choice for some unfortunately.

Just came across this kuntres, which seems to claim that existence of gluten is what qualifies חמשת מיני דגן.

I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

I think the author is mistaken in saying that the difference between the 5 grains and all others is Gluten. Oats do not have gluten, they have avenin, which is a different type of protein. The only reason why oats are an issue for celiacs and others who are gluten free is that they have been grown and processed together with wheat and other grains containing gluten.

Kinda bothers me that this misinformation is being spread without the proper research.

I think ha gufa the argument is that oats are not one of the 5 grains for that reason, and that 2-row and 6-row barley are 2 of the 5
