Some comments at OMAAT saying this will apply to all flights on all carriers from the Middle East to the US.

According to a reliable US source, this will happen on all Middle East airlines flights that do NOT go through a US pre-clearance facility. It will be announced tomorrow looks like Royal Jordanian announced before they were supposed to. Not a joke.

Yeah, I posted it like this because at first it was just comments saying it would affect others, but now several blogs have posted a tweet from a Saudia exec as a source:

Makes sense. Wondering why they waited until now. Should have done it right after the Egypt plane crash. I have a feeling "lost" baggage becoming a lot more common as the baggage handlers take their share...

Any word on which countries?
Have a flight from TLV-VIE-NYC, in a few hours.

An aviation official said U.S. carriers are not impacted because none flies directly from the countries in question to the U.S.
Israel is not included...

"Buy" your kids a prepaid cell phone.
Costs a few buck, and definitely worth it on a long flight.
I'm not who you think I am.
