it is getting more and more expensive to fly

I know airlines have been devaluing points recently, but this is quite absurd.  I was looking at different destinations for August 9-13 .. Departing NY going to either SJU, KEF, Grand Cayman. The flights are crazy. Since when is it $400 rd trip from NY-SJU? or 37.5 miles each way on united, that 75k miles rd trip? what are they smoking? makes no sense! I can fly to Europe for almost that price.  American is 100k+ rd trip to SJU.. has everyone noticed this as well? It almost pays to wait and see if there is a flash sale a week before departure.

I wasnt asking for help finding a ticket. Its not a random post either. This thread discuss air travel. Thats what Im talking about..air travel, how expensive it is getting

If you want to complain about a specific route that you can't find affordable flights for that's one thing but you titled the thread "it is getting more expensive to fly" which is simply not true. (Also you didn't capitalize "it", thread titles should not have grammar or spelling mistakes.)

Flights in general have actually been reaching new lows. Just search some old DDF threads and you'll see that flights NYC-TLV for $600 or even $700 warranted a title of HOT!!!!!....

I just picked random dates but $400 = 20k MR with BP so that sounds like a pretty good deal!

And along with cheaper revenue fares, the airline mileage programs are becoming less valuable with limited saver availability and various devaluations.
