I have Iberia tickets booked through BA Avios 2 X J for 42,500 BA plus $56.42. It would cost me the $56.42 to cancel them. I am fairly certain that they will go back into inventory. They are for 9 months out. It would cost me only 31,900 for the same booking plus ~$144. So net i would be saving 10,600 Avios but it would cost me ~$88 more. Is it worth the effort and the headache or is it a no brainer?

It's really going to cost you $200 to save the 10,600 avios so that really depends on how much you value your BA. At resale you're basically breaking even but I would value them at much higher than 1cpp for actual use.

On the off chance the J seats dont go back into inventory its not worth the risk. Still getting a great value for them. Each ticket is $1k+ and Y is ~$740 one way but $695 for J RT and $336 for Y RT.
So im getting 3+cpp

I was just speaking to an AA rep last night and he said he's had problems with Iberia seats not going straight back into inventory. That doesn't mean that Iberia won't be able to see it right away but it might make more sense to just leave it at this point.
