Right. If it was preventing him from boarding at the gate, sure thats within their right. But forcibly removing him when he is already seated on the plane and not causing a disturbance? Thats gotta be uncharted territory, right?

However, United knows that this incident will cost them at a minimum the hundreds of millions, and the fallout is just growing. They need closure as soon as possible, not a drawn out legal battle with them defending their actions in court, which will further incriminate them in the court of public opinion. A proactive settlement seems obvious.
Have you seen their stock valuation from the past few days?

Food for thought:
Around the time Dan received his GS status, the sale and barter of GPU/RPU's were banned on DDF.
Good thing it's Pesach and there's plenty of tinfoil around to make hats for everyone :)

I understand the busy argument but the pointless one, he did discuss the Delta difficulties a few days earlier..
It's patently unfair that the UA story has so much more coverage than the DL story, but other than that I have little to add other than UA caused this mess by a lack of trust and empowerment of their own employees to offer enough funny money to fix situations like this with VDB before they go IDB and pay out more in cash.

No idea what Gary and Lucky et al felt they contributed with dozens of breathless posts on this.

It could also be that he's on vacation
That too. People here want me to go on the speaking circuit or to write a book after my DD history speech.

I don't know if Delta realizes how lucky they are. Everywhere I went  the previous weekend people where incredibly annoyed (to say the least) at Delta. After the united story came out no one was talking about Delta anymore

So much banter about right or wrong at the end of the day we should be talking about how we are not sure how the mileage world can gain from this....

If revenue flights drop they'll need to make them up with award flights.

No idea what Gary and Lucky et al felt they contributed with dozens of breathless posts on this.
Clicks. Lots and and lots of them. Mob mentality fury and reaction love finding others parroting the same they've been hearing, so they can express their ever wise and incisive opinions in the comments for the umpteenth time saying "wow all United employees are such terrible people. I was delayed 20 minutes on a flight a year ago, and this guy got dragged off the plane". (Insert dumb meme that somehow makes it a new sensational story.)
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

Chrome extension that removes United from airline search results
