This is really ridiculous. Why can't they just refund the points if the flight gets cancelled to avoid all the gamers. Or better yet, allow the points to be redeemed at a value of 2 cents without having to layout the points, like the CSR.
1) Do you have any idea what kind of manpower or systems adjustments (if even possible) that would require?
2) Uhm, because it would cost them more money?
