Booked the ticket. Then called Amex to notate the account and again bounced from one department to another. No one wants to put on writing that I'll receive the 50% rebate. All they'll promise is the 1:1 redemption rate (instead of the usual 1:0.67).
Last phone rep recommended that I cancel the ticket with Delta (still within 24 hours of booking) and then call "Platinum Travel Services" to book. Rep claimed that they show more fares than Amex Travel online/phone.
Amex has way too many departments but none are willing/able to satisfy customer needs.
I used to find Amex CSR's so accommodating and easy to deal with. Now it seems like all they want to do is pass you along to the next dept.
