Stuck In Paris- Help needed
« on: April 26, 2017, 01:59:51 PM »
Anyone know who I can call to get food to hotel near CDG? Delta nonstop was diverted and they are delayed until tomorrow morning.
I emailed the Chabad listing closest to CDG, but no one answered the phone.

Why not just Uber into the city?
Enjoy a delicious dinner at Darjeeling, Thai One, or L'inte Cafe, see the Eiffel Tower...

Yup.
Nobody else around that wants to grab a bite to eat?

What time did they land in CDG? When do they depart?

The train system isn't very hard to figure out. I flew into CDG, took the train to a restaurant, the Eiffel tower and back to sleep in the airport. Especially if Delta is offering any vouchers for the stay that shouldn't be hard.

Landed around 12,  tried to fix problem for four hours! Finally deplaned, and just got to hotel. It's 8:15 PM now and they need to be at airport tomorrow @6AM. Are restaurants open late in Paris?

Don't know if he's in the mood for any more adventure. I actually got him rebooked on a KLM flight, but they didn't let him on, as he got to the gate 15 minutes before departure and he wasn't checked in. Then he had to wander the airport to find the group again.

Take a cab, save the receipt for cab and food, try sending it into Delta for reimbursement.

If you insist on the closest to airport, Sarcelles is a suburb which is closer, has a huge jewish community (including Chabad) and many restaurants

Are you kidding? He's a 21 year old adult! Some people his age have already two kids, paying mortgage/rent, flying on his one etc. I am sure he had gone to many unfamiliar places in Israel or other cities already....

I have no connection to this flight, but a night in Paris on Delta's dime doesn't sounds too bad to me unless you absolutely needed to be in TLV ASAP.

And many Arabs.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Not all people are the same.

I have two sons who went to Yeshiva in Eretz Yisroel. I sent each on of them alone the first time they went. Totally different experience, totally different attitudes.

I just dropped off my son at JFK on AB flight (he likes that one because TXL is only 20-25 minutes from Chabad, where he can go to mikvah and daven), yet he still had my DW escort him up until security. My older son has gone through various airports alone, took public transportation, almost always made his connecting flight only at the last moment, and manages. Forgot to mention that the one son calls home a few times a day, other son we were at his mercy and were lucky if he called once a week to say good Shabbos.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!
