$300 per item, 1K per card per year. So if you have an SPG card and a PRG card you'll only have 2k of total RP coverage, regardless of how many AUs you have on each card.

If you are unsure if an item qualifies for RP, then instead of asking for opinions here (slightly better than asking medical advice on facebook mind you), PUTPAC and ask the RP reps. You don't need to give your name or card info, just say you have an item or you will be buying an item and the store has a crappy return policy and want to make sure if there is a problem you can return it.

specifically, I ordered something on someone else's verizon account but had it shipped to me and paid on my card

Return protection rarely, if ever, covers custom items. This sounds like a merchant and/or UPS issue, not an Amex issue.

Filed claim and sent in receipt on 10/14. Spoke to them on phone 2 days later and haven't heard anything.
Anyone else's claim seem to be taking longer than usual?

You should be able to get the restocking fee refunded but YMMV.

They shouldn't, IIRC amex return protection isn't even run by them it's contacted out to  a company. At the very least it's Amex Assurance which doesn't have anything to do with the day to day spending and offers etc.

Yes, there's an option during the filing proceeds to choose restocking fee as the reason for the claim. I think you'll need both receipts which shows the restocking fee.

Again, YMMV so don't rely on this 100%. You might want to file the claim before you return then just to make sure that they'll cover it. You should also be able to contact Shoebox and ask them to make you an invoice for the restocking fee.

What should I put in as the purchase price of the item? The amount I paid, or the amount I'm claiming for the restocking fee?
