Weren't they just bailed out (for the 3rd time)?
Not much of a help to get back from sukkos now
Risk definitely exists. Buy insurance that will give you adequate coverage in case of provider insolvency.
Thanks — any recommendations?
https://www.usatoday.com/story/travel/flights/todayinthesky/2017/10/16/report-lufthansa-preparing-alitalia-bid-steep-cuts/767932001/According to this article, the Italian government gave them enough money to operate through next summer.
...European. They have perfected the art of can kicking and extend & pretend.
Sounds like all is good but if I book with Alitalia, does it make sense to book under a Delta codeshare (DL ticket, Alitalia metal)? If Alitalia cancels flight, would DL be on hook to rebook? Price is the same.
Does anyone think that at this point my Pesach tickets are safe?
the Italian government will give Alitalia a further 300 million EUR loan, and is extending the deadline for finding Alitalia a buyer until April 30, 2018
Booked ORD-FCO-TLV-AMS-ORD in August. My outbound ticket is on AZ but return is DL. Wish I had remembered about this because having to replace one leg if they go bankrupt will be probably next to impossible.
Who did you book with?
Alitalia (through a 3rd party website). My return trip is ticketed through DL, though.
What people might think won’t make any difference when the proverbial excrement hits the rotation.
What about booking for June. I'm a taking a risk I saw this: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-03-15/there-s-a-fight-brewing-for-control-of-italy-s-skiesAccording to that article is seems that if they really do go under other airlines will take over their flights. True?
