Gmail outbox stuck

I have a Galaxy S7 latest firmware. Lately, my attachments get stuck in  outbox for a very long time, when I restart my phone it usually sends within a minute, otherwise it just stays stuck. Anyone else have this? Any ideas how to fix it?. Thanks in advance

Have the same issue from time to time. Usually going to outbox and refreshing it works.

But it's a pain finding out hrs later that it the email wasn't sent.

Not sure though why it's happening
