5) What to do if American Express closed your accounts?
Once American Express closes your accounts, the only way to get back on is if you have the required information needed to pass a Financial Review. They will require you to request a 4506 form from the IRS (which will cost you $57) before they even approve any of your future applications.

Interesting story. I was shut down for not sending in the 4506T form back in December of 2013. 4 months ago I applied and was approved for 2 personal and 2 biz cards. However I could not use the card . When I logged in there was a number for me to call. When I called it the system said that I am ok. So I pressed 0 for a operator. The rep said I see there is a block on your account from a old F/R I said how come , I just opened these cards. She said I don't know and she removed the block. So far so good b"h over 500k MR , der bashefer zol helfen vieter

Good for you! But it sounds like you got lucky with a rep who didn't know how it works

did you shut down the accounts? or did you let amex do it?

I did send in a 4506t form per request but still they said they cant open cuz of history....Any tips? think I should send in 4506?

My wife's account is currently under review due to a large purchase on a new biz card as I wrote upthread. The rep assigned to the case said if we close the biz cards then we only need to provide verification of personal income to pass review. 2 questions:
1. Will she pass with 8k income even though her application said 55k?
2. If that will not be accepted will she have a chance to close personal cards as well before being shut down?
She only has 2 personal cards so it may not be worth the risk of getting shut down

Read a few posts up. He was shut down and when he reapplied the rep removed the block on his name because she didn't know what it was

Do you have a joint tax return showing more income? I think people have passed with less than 8k on the books.

Nope. Also that is 2013 return. We did not file at all in 2014 although i can provide bank statements showing 10-15k of income. Should the 2013 be fine?

I was just put under FR by Amex (USA this time). I have 50k MR pending that will post when my next statement closes on the 19th. I have until the 15th to submit the tax forms, which I am not doing. I tried to get them to expedite the 50k but they won't budge. Should I try and get an extension on sending in the tax forms so that I can get my 50k? What will happen if I cancel the card while they're pending? I assume I'll lose them... Should I cancel the card and then have it reinstated in 2 months? or would the 50k be lost that way as well....

I don't think there is any way to save the points other than somehow getting them to post before you close the account
