Interesting, after FR was completed with new credit limits FR Rep told me Employer number is incorrect. Do they call the number from Employer??

I just got FR'd.

Recently got married, wife got a job recently, I don't work. I put $100k on all my applications, which was household income. So I have no income, my wife didn't make much last year, so tax returns won't show anything. I told the rep that my wife's estimated income is $45k, and we get a lot from my parents and in-laws, which all together amounts to about $100k.

The thing is, I got a tax return extension, and previously have never filed a tax return, so the rep told me to send in the extension and two months of bank statements.

Am I okay because I'm not actually sending in my tax return, or should I just shut it down? My bank account won't show much, not more than a few thousand dollars.

You should be good, I know ppl that passed with extensions and bank statements

Yes. You'll likely get spending limits imposed (and IME, people that pass via bank statements are less likely to get approved for new cards the next couple of months).

I just got an email from amex about the f/r, it says the account number on the email. If I close that card am I fine, or is the f/r for all my cards?

My wife spoke to the Rep and she said that my she needs to submit form 4506T.

She has around five cards (3 charge) and I doubt she will make it out with all of them as she only shows income of 20K on the books. Should I close some of them down (that I do not need any more) to give me a better chance of coming out of this with the cards I want.

Also if they close down some of the cards would her credit show they were closed by issuer or since some were left open it isnt a black spot on report?

Furthermore, does it help that we file jointly? or will they only pay attention to her salary?

Was she honest about what she made? I don't think you have to close anything. they may shut you down but it's more likely they will slash your lines. You can ask the rep if it comes to shutting you down if they can call you first and allow you to shut down

How do they slash charge cards when it isnt credit?

filing jointly definitely helps. My wife has no income but we file jointly and sent in our tax returns and she passed.
