I am searching the award calender on CO starting from march thru Feb 2012 for one Biz seat non-stop EWR-TLV and I dont see anything available in either direction. What is up with that? There are barely a sprinkling of days that have availability in coach but not to have a single seat available in Biz?? Was CO always this bad (or am I missing something)?
Edit, I actually found 3 days that have availability in BF 9/28-9/29 (Erev Rosh hashana and R"H) and Friday Nov 25 - so us frum Jews are out of luck...
Yup, it's bad out there now for EWR-TLV in BF. The lie-flats made paying $$$ for them more popular, which means less mileage seats. At least there's Star Alliance options though. For TLV-EWR I see 03/12, 09/09, 09/14, 09/28, 09/29, 12/01, 12/02,
The chances are quite good via waitlist, so book a economy and get waitlisted for business saver. You might only get upgraded at the airport, but chances are high, especially low season
Delta that you can now find plenty of mid-tier availability and at the current transfer promotion will cost 154K MR + $45 taxes.
Has anyone here flown on the DL744 in BE? Those birds are ancient, have the BE seats been refurbished?
+1000CO Plan B is seriously under-appreciated.
Does the upgrade only clear the day of the flight? How does the inventory work, if there is an available seat then you clear?
Then check in decides. They will fill up every last seats with upgardes, so if the flight is fully booked in business they will wait and see if all pax show up. Last time the upgrade went through after check in before boarding, as 3 people did not show up for check in.
That's not it's supposed to work. When you go to checkin you need to stress that you paid for BF and are a displaced BF customer. If the agent types in the proper codes you will have P1 status added to your reservation which means your seat will be cleared BEFORE all upgraders as you have top priority (P1) due to being a paid displaced BF customer. People using upgrades (miles+copay or SWUs) do not have P1 status.
