arriving on time at the airport I was told that the flight from Geneva to tel aviv was canceled

any idea if I can get compensation? as I had no more use of the flight to Switzerland and lost expenses

Which airline issued your ticket? Did they offer alternative way to get to TLV?

way till geneva switzerland was a swiss airlines points ticket bought by air canada

from geneva till tlv was el al issues by expedia

That's the risk you have when traveling on two separate tickets. Did you try speaking to ELAL. You might be entitled to Israeli mandatory compensation for their segment.

Depends on the reason for the delay, how long the delay was, and compensation amount depends on the distance of travel.

flight wasnt delayed , it was canceled ,

Do your Rabbis usually use the word probably when rendering a psak? Mine don't! I am not a Rabbi (and anyone who tried calling me that in person knows how I respond to that) and definitely don't issue piskei dinim or attempted to do so.
