Best way to block number
« on: August 28, 2017, 07:48:17 PM »
I'm looking for a way to block specific numbers and have them get a busy signal or a number disconnect signal or something of the sort.

Any ideas ?

Also I have Sprint. If I block a number through them will the person still get a ringtone on their end?

If you have an iPhone just block the number. You'll never get. A voicemail text or call again

I use hiya to block calls... It's very meh though.
It usually allows one annoying ring through before it blocks.
Second, it causes a double splash of the call app everytime I dial a number...

Wish there would be a better solution. I'm deluged with spam calls

Does it just  go to voicemail on their end?

That's my next option. I really don't want to do that though. Rather figure out something else.

Can't you register your number on the "Do not call" list?

Just did! For some reason never crossed my mind to register a cell. - I'm from the generation where cell numbers were personal, sacred and private.

Won't help.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

I have one of the most sophisticated phones of all times. It's called a Palm Centro... {Insert roll-eyes emoji here} I have an "app" called Call Filter. One of the amazing things I can do is set my phone to pick up and hang up a phone call immediately when it comes in. I can also set a string of characters to act as wild cards.

Me, too.  It used to be that when a cell rang, they really were calling you.
But they've begun adding cells to robo call data bases.  >:(

Non-sales calls like solicitations for charity or surveys are allowed even when you're on the 'do not call ' list.

You have one that lasted this long? Or you got a brand new one in modern times?

I got it when it was on it's downward trend, and yes, lasted this long. I wish I can find more to buy. Praying every day it doesn't just go to sleep on me.

What is this and what does it do for you?
If for example I keep getting spam phone calls from 231 area code, but the rest of the phone number is different each time I just enter into the criteria field 231-???-????, which tells the system that any number that has this area code, but ?s can be replaced with any other number, then its blocked. It has far more advanced features than this too.
