Topic Wiki

I'm going to try to make an index of the questions and answers here. I'm thinking of writing a short summary of the question/topic then writing the reply number, date, author (in case someone deletes a post it should still be findable). And writing locations of relevant replies on that question.

Question 1- Why did Hashem want to create the world? (Reply #1, 8/29/17, Starstruck)

See reply #78 8/31/17 churnbabychurn. #26 8/30/17 chbochur. #53 8/30/17 starstruck. #65 8/30/17 chbochur.

Question 2 - Why does beis din have to give punishments, can't Hashem give it? (#77 8/31/17 starstruck)

See reply #99 9/01/17 zh Cohen. #147 9/06/17 starstruck.

Question 3 - Why isn't there a sefeika d'yoma by Yom Kippur (but by Sukkos there is)? (#88 9/01/17 Dan)

See pages 7,8,9,10

Question 4 - Why is it נוח לו לאדם שלא נברא יותר משנברא if the whole purpose of the world is to be meitiv? ( #112 9/01/17 chbochur)

See #146 9/05/17 aygart and quoted conversations.

Pls don't u do sound like a missionary
I hear. I guess the only defense I have against such a claim is if you test me on stuff that missionaries don't know.
For example you can ask me to give  you pshat in a ketzos or a rav boruch ber. Or ask me about the latest hock. Or ask me what's the din in any shaila that you have. Maybe you can ask me something that only someone who is frum will notice in daily life. I can't think of anything in specific right now. But I'm sure you can get creative.

Another thing I want to point out is I'm guessing part of the reason why you think that I'm some sort of missionary is because of the way it was written. All the proper grammar gives it a weird look. Like I sort of copied the question from a book.

Once again I can't prove otherwise, I'll just explain why it's like that. I'm used to typing like that, and autocorrect helps me also with the capitalization and apostrophes. That's it!

What if you converted to a missionary then you would know both.

True. But what are the chances? How many frum  people did you hear of doing that?

I'm trying to think if there's another way to prove otherwise. I'm thinking along the lines of: assuming I was such a person surely people would know about me. Then maybe I can prove it from something that I know happened in a place where I wouldn't be let into.

But then you can say it's impossible to find a place where they know everyone. And I can always disguise myself. Or you can say I converted to some other religion in secret.

I don't know, I'm stuck. Maybe you can think of a different proof.

So I guess the only reason to believe me is because that's very very rare

I am not saying I don't believe you. Actually I do believe you. If you want to prove it to others the answer is easy. Just post your other nic. The ball is in your court.

You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used to start a religious discussion.

Well what you do prove in this post is that your not a chossid, which explains why you have all the"why" questions that you have, starting with your first question of why hashem created the world. If it is for the reason your saying to be meitav al habrioyos the briyos are all part of olam hazeh so why did he create the briyos as well?....
Chassidus based off the medresh tanchuma and bamidbar raba explain:
And as the saying in the name of the alter rebbe goes "אויף א תאווה איז קיין קשיא ניט"
For further reference see Tanya perek lamed vov.

If you can farshtei a Reb boruch ber you should be able to understand this as well:)
