Topic Wiki

I'm going to try to make an index of the questions and answers here. I'm thinking of writing a short summary of the question/topic then writing the reply number, date, author (in case someone deletes a post it should still be findable). And writing locations of relevant replies on that question.

Question 1- Why did Hashem want to create the world? (Reply #1, 8/29/17, Starstruck)

See reply #78 8/31/17 churnbabychurn. #26 8/30/17 chbochur. #53 8/30/17 starstruck. #65 8/30/17 chbochur.

Question 2 - Why does beis din have to give punishments, can't Hashem give it? (#77 8/31/17 starstruck)

See reply #99 9/01/17 zh Cohen. #147 9/06/17 starstruck.

Question 3 - Why isn't there a sefeika d'yoma by Yom Kippur (but by Sukkos there is)? (#88 9/01/17 Dan)

See pages 7,8,9,10

Question 4 - Why is it נוח לו לאדם שלא נברא יותר משנברא if the whole purpose of the world is to be meitiv? ( #112 9/01/17 chbochur)

See #146 9/05/17 aygart and quoted conversations.

Well what you do prove in this post is that your not a chossid, which explains why you have all the"why" questions that you have, starting with your first question of why hashem created the world. If it is for the reason your saying to be meitav al habrioyos the briyos are all part of olam hazeh so why did he create the briyos as well?....
Chassidus based off the medresh tanchuma and bamidbar raba explain:
And as the saying in the name of the alter rebbe goes "אויף א תאווה איז קיין קשיא ניט"
For further reference see Tanya perek lamed vov.

If you can farshtei a Reb boruch ber you should be able to understand this as well:)

I don't know the teitsh to אתכפיא ואתהפכא and I don't know what ונה"ב stands for so could be I'm missing out on a critical part of what's written.

I still want to follow up on what you're saying. Why does Hashem have a "tayva"? Doesn't a tayva for something mean that you're in a way bound to that tayva. After all we have such a concept when it comes to people's tayvos. Who's considered bnei chorin, us or the goyim?

Does it make sense to say that Hashem is bound by anything?

Besides for the concept of bondage. Doesn't the concept of a tayva mean you're missing something. And after you fulfill your tayva you get into a higher and happier state of mind.

If so how can you say such a concept about Hashem? Is He missing anything?

What happened to I think it was @username that asked me what "shtayim shehaim arba" means? I guess I'll write the answer without the question.

 Shevuos. Tumah. shabbos. Tzaras.

sh'vua - The Torah says two types. Will do something and won't do something.   It includes another two types in the past tense. Didn't do something did do something.

tumah - Torah says if someone forgets he's tamei and either eats kodshim or goes into bais hamikdosh, he's mechuyiv a korban. It includes two other cases. If he remembers he's tamei but doesn't realize it's kodshim/beis hamikdosh.

shabbos - The Torah only says two types of yetzios, which is either holding it in reshus hayachid and passing it into reshus harabbim or sticking your hands into reshus hayachid and bringing it to reshus harabbim. It includes two types of hachnosos also. Either passing from reshus harabbim into yachid or bringing in from rabbim to yachid.

tzaras - Torah only says se'ais and baheres. This includes sapachas which is a different color for each one respectively.

Is that good enough?
