Didn't Andrew miss the area that was evacuated and hit an area that many people had evacuated to?I'm not saying people shouldn't (or should) evacuate, but I think there are probably arguments to be made both ways and it's it's not as simple as a life insurance policy...
their weather-path-predicting technology has hopefully improved a lot since then, and perhaps they can more accurately pinpoint the locations better this time around...
There may have been other (unpredictable) factors at play with hurricane Andrew, but that's a whole other story...
