So what does a hurricane funnel on Sukkot symbolize ?
but what if I tell you that rosh hashana is the next yom tov that's coming up?!
And happens to be we blow the shofer then, aside for the 30 days before R"H which we blow after shacris.
What a coincidence I must say!?

Pretty scary.
It also looks like a boomerang and probably 100 different things to others.

A guy sees his new neighbor out in his backyard, so he decides to get acquainted. After introductions, he asks the new neighbor what he does for a living.

The new neighbor says, "I'm a professor." The first neigbhbor then asks, "Oh yeah, what do you teach?"

"Logic," the professor reponds.

"What is that?" the neighbor inquires.

"Well, let me see if I can give you an example...you have a dog, right?"

"Yeah, that's right," neighbor #1 responds.

"And you have children too, right?" says the professor.

"Wow, right again!" exclaims the neighbor.

"So, then you must be married and that would make you a heterosexual, right?'' proclaims the professor.

"Unbelievable, you're absolutely correct. How do you know all this about me?"

"Well," the professor says, "I observed there was a dog house in your backyard, so you must have a dog. I also saw bicycles next to your garage, so you must have children. And if you have children, you are probably married and if your married, you are most likely heterosexual... it was all logical!"

The next afternoon, the neighbor runs into his old friend. His friend asks if he has met the new neighbor. The man says that he met him yesterday.

"What's he like?"

"Well," the man says, "he's nice and he is a professor of logic."

"Oh," says the friend, "what's logic?"

"Maybe I can give you an example. Do you have a dog house?"

"Why, no, I do not," responds the friend.

"Well, then," proclaims the man, "you must be gay!"

Nothing about the hurricane like like a shofar. It's the cone of uncertainty that does. Is that significant?
If you don't care why would you comment?

driving. separately with their families.  they were able to get hosted by the Atlanta  community

For all those heading to ATL, please contact me directly. We have a system set up and hoping to accommodate all with housing. Up to 300 families that have not arranged on their own and counting.

Wow!  This is amazing!

Unfortunately, not everyone in Atlanta is displaying such friendship towards the evacuees:  Braves play 'Rock You Like A Hurricane' between innings in game with Marlins

What ever brings them closer to Hashem.

I would bet that the vast majority of hurricane cones have a similar shape since very few move perfectly straight.

I just want to observe that while emailing with a banking client in Atlanta today, he offered to hook us up with their corporate rate at the Ritz Carlton in Buckhead for a colleague considering driving to Atlanta today. We didn't ask, nor were we expecting him to offer space in his own home. It was moot because the RC is sold out.

As this was happening, I heard about the Jewish community in Atlanta who have opened their own homes and shuls to host a thousand people (some of them, my neighbors) for a full weekend. The kindness and connectivity of the Jewish community is amazing.

Awaiting takeoff now at MIA to MCI, nearly three hours late. The northbound air traffic, including general aviation, is just as jammed as the turnpike.

After watching what was going on in Houston I would say our country is amazing also.

Sad to say but it seems tragedy is the only thing that brings the country together.

Still a lot of uncertainty whether it hits Florida at all.

Things have changed. The likelihood increased. Still not a certainty.

According to Google, traffic clears up a bit after that.

But did anyone think of closing the southbound side and allowing northbound cars to use it?
yeah was wondering why they haven't done that yet
They asked the governor he said to dangerous, and not as many people were evacuated then...

It's a 500 mile+ stretch.

Also... I heard Georgia is accepting sunpass

Known as contraflow https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contraflow_lane_reversal
They were saying that there were still trucks bringing in fuel etc so they needed to keep the other side open.
Also I believe Florida is waiving all tolls, don't know about Georgia

Interesting number - out of 12,000 parking spots at the airport lots, only 150 were available as of Thursday morning.
