Bringing Kosher Food to Dominican Republic
« on: September 15, 2017, 09:40:03 AM »
I'm traveling with my entire family (22 ppl including kids) to Dominican Republic (Punta Cana/ Cap Cana area).
We rented out a villa. I am working with the concierge on koshering the necessary kitchen items including purchasing new glass plates and cups, new BBQ grate grills etc.

My question is in regards to bringing Kosher Food from USA. Has anyone brought kosher food (meats) with them? Shipped kosher food from someone in the USA? We're from NY.

The local chabad only has poultry.
(The lifestyle kosher hotels will not provide us with meats unless we stay at the hotel)

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

We brought food and we had the fear of them checking
but we luckily got thru.

Punta Cana is more layback than what you would come to experience going through customs in cancun where they are known to be food nazi's

Ps. the Hotel we stayed at had a tremendous amount of kosher certified products

I'm not sure where they get it from
Kosher Cereal, Mayo, Ketchup, Sriracha, Whip Cream & Ice Cream (Not CY), Nutella, Pam and others not coming to mind at the moment.

We brought A pan, forgot to bring a spatula as well

but may I suggest to bring a dairy and meat sponges to assist in cleaning.

Really now? i guess each person will have to bring a luggage worth of food.

I'm going next week to Eden Roc, cap cana. Anyone have any details on their kosher option, I cant find any info online other than at their website.
What about regular breakfast, can I bring an egg pan?
Anyone else bring food on the plane?
