After trying for many cards over the past year, I finally got approved for a Freedom $500.
I had charged off and settled several accounts with chase 5 years ago.

Did you settle all your chase offs, did chase own the debt at the time of your settlement, and did you have to call for recon.

Settled 1 account, 2-3 others charged off.
Chase owned the debt when I settled.
Had to call recon probably 8-10 times.

I just tried to help my dad get a CSP. He's opened 3 cards in the last 2 years, but he's an AU on 2 or 3 other cards. I called recon and they told me I was denied for having too many opened accounts in the past 24 months. He told me I could call Equifax to get the AU cards removed from my dad's report. Has anyone had any luck with this situation - too many accounts in the past 24 months cause of being an authorized user? Could I have Equifax remove the accounts from the report and do another pull?

I'm in the same situation. Called Equifax, waited on hold for a LONG time and they told me that they can't remove AUs from my CR, that the issuing bank has to do it.  I think that's bunk based on reading others' experience.  I will HUCA...

I just can't figure out a way around the 5 card/2 years maximum.  Even though 2 are AUs and I have a FICO score >800 and a long relationship with Chase, no rep has even given an indication that they can reconsider...

I did but they would need to do another inquiry in which case they'll see the other cards that I opened during that AOR.   I think I'm stuck.  This limit only applies to Sapphire and Freedom though, right?

You sure those new cards hit your report yet?

I dont know if this is known here or not.
But I just read a reddit page full of data points.
And I read that if you don't call in to recon you may get approved.
Anyone hear about this ?

I applied for Chase BA card, and it is pending. The question: to call or not to call? In the past they've been difficult over the phone, so I'd rather let it take its course. What do you think?

Whatwver works better for you. Some wait it out & get approved, others declined. In the past did you get approved when waiting ?
