PS: If the reason you were declined on a 5/24 card is 5/24, and you are indeed 5/24, YOU WILL NOT GET APPROVED.

Messed up again.
Called up AMEX to reconsider the PRG personal card.
They tell me I had made 2 biz apps, one of which was declined, and I said they were personal apps, but they said biz.
I said, ok, and explained the gadlus of the PRG vs the Plat card.
They said that I had called a few days ago, and I said I hadn't.
10 minutes into the call, I realize I'm talking with Chase! (so they were right. These were biz cards, and I had called up already :) )
I'm on hold with them, and agreed to close down 4 cards to open up the Ink. (It's okay. 2 SW cards, a UA, and a Sapphire, not preferred.)
Wish me luck!

EDIT: Approved!

My God!

Was it an old card?
They asked you why you just closed it?!

Tell them you realized you wanted it.

i applied a 2 month ago for the
1. BA approoved 3K CL (after recon)
2. SP approoved 9K CL (after recon)
3. hyatt decliend
less then a month ago i applied for
1. UNITED CLUB approoved 14.5 CL. ( i got a special offer with first year free)
2. hayatt             denied
i called chase to close my BA bill early in order to get the points , and i got it .

Here is my Q  since i got billed the AF for the BA on the first of February so if i close it till the 2nd of march ( to get approved for the hyatt )
i will get back the annual fee , but my status of the hyatt didn't update yet to platinum (From the UC card),
is it worth the 95$ to wait for the status with hyatt ?

Got approved for the HYATT by moving 5k CL from my club card!

I would love to hear their response to that!
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

Sent an SM last week to have an application reconsidered for my grandmother -
tonight I signed in and see that they followed my instructions of moving some of her credit over to get it approved and voila!

REcon through SM = brilliant!

so we applied for the ink bold for wifes business (got targeted app in mail so I thought that would be more likely to be approved) already have classic and plus and sw. Didnt get any denial, just a call from them.
After discussing the business profits the guy turned kind of nasty and said that their exposure is way too high considering her income alone.

In order to approve this card he would cut the total credit limit from 75k to 15k. Can't transfer credit or close any cards. I'm pretty sure that cutting the CL that much would be bad for credit score so i declined.

I dont think the guy understood exactly the gross and business profits, and its not as drastic as he thought, but I am nervous and dont want recon again. Should i be more nervous and move the UR points out of there?
