When you do that, does your personal account disappear, or you can access it through both usernames?

In my case they shut down the personal account

I still have my personal account available online, but you can't double up on certain features - i.e. quick pay can only be on one account (that is if they both have the same email address).  I have all my personal info on business so i never use personal, but it's still there.

The account stays open and functional. It just shows personal info then.

Just got a 3rd approved for my wife.  After multiple HUCAs denying it, I SMed and here was the response.

"Dear XXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXX,

We have reconsidered your original request and are pleased
to inform you that your request has been approved. A more
detailed letter has been sent to you.

I did a 3bm last month without issues as well so it's definitely still possible.

How long after huca and application did you sm

I applied at the end of last month, one approval immediately, the second after one call on the same day.  2 calls denying the third.  I sent the SM yesterday and they replied in a few hours saying they forwarded it to the correct dept. and I would hear within 5-7 business days.  I got the second SM early this afternoon approving it.

I should note that I offered to move credit around in the SM and they did that.  Hope this helps.

Can you please share the SM you sent so other people can use it as a template?  Of course remove your personal info

Here you go:

"To whom it may concern:

Please forward this to the correct department. Last month I applied for 3 cards simultaneously, and two of them were approved, with the 3rd being declined. I know it is unconventional, but after my nightmarish experience preparing my taxes this year I thought this could prevent future headaches. To clarify, my wife and I want to start isolating our 4 accounts from each other to better monitor the spending on each one. Specifically, we each have personal accounts, our health insurance provides for an HSA, and my wife's employer provides her with an FSA, for a total of 4 accounts.

I would ideally like to have one credit card for each account, so come next year, my income tax preparation would be much simpler. I also prefer to have all 4 cards with the same issuer, for convenience's sake, which is why I've been barely using my AmEx or Citi cards.

As you can see, I've never had a late payment, my cards balances get paid in full every month, I have great credit, and I'm gainfully employed. Lastly, I am not asking Chase to extend additional credit to me I am amenable to splitting the credit limit on my currently active Southwest card to allow the new one an equal credit limit.

Thank you so much for your consideration.

Truly,

XXX XXX"

I just write something along the lines of how I just applied for the United card and can you transfer over some of my credit from my Hyatt card to get it approved. The end.

Short and to the point. Though, i gotta admit, Aaaron's is a lot more convincing :)
