Fair enough, but how many game 7 Finals/WS have people attended themselves to compare to?
Anyone been to game 7 from all 3?
OPs Q was watch or attend.
PUTPAC = PITA

Some of us have been blessed with teams that don't need 7 games.

Should be 2 threads. Sports like baseball weren't meant to be watched on TV.

Especially with all those time outs every possession. And intentional fouls. Gotta love it.

If you actually want to see the whole game TV is where it is at. For the atmosphere you go to the game.

To me, and I'm certainly a biased MLB-first guy, there's something special about win-or-go-home baseball games. It's not only the history of the series being split, but it's the mysterious nature of the game that you have absolutely no idea how the game will unfold, and who will be the hero and goat. Maybe Andrew Miller will crash and burn, but Raj Davis will bail him out. In LDS Game 5s,  maybe you would be on Bautista coming through, but who could know that Daniel Murphy (pre-divine status) would almost single-handedly win the game. In the NBA, you know who the big guys are going to be; in the NHL, you have a good guess (start with the goalies), but MLB is so completely unpredictable that it makes those games completely crazy (IMO).

That's definitely part of it.

Other parts:
-Lack of a clock means that literally anything can happen. I've seen walk off grand slams. That doesn't happen in sports on a clock with 1 minute left and down by X.

-More natural tension and excitement. No phony announcer screaming to get the decibel levels higher. It seems to happen more naturally in baseball playoffs and that's even more impressive given that it's outdoors.

Maybe for hockey. Never had an issue seeing a whole baseball game.

Are you saying a clock in football doesn't make it more exciting. The most exciting part of football is the two minute drill or in some cases 1:13  :)

That depends on how close the game is.
Baseball allows teams to come back from greater deficits than other sports would with a minute to go. Just look at WS Game 7 last year or the CLE ALDS game 2 victory this year.

Another bonus: Everything in this world is on the clock. Except baseball. That's something special

The number one complaint about baseball is the games are to long. So no clock also has it drawbacks. I have seen football teams come back from 30+ points. I have also seen teams score 14 points in less than a minute. Ever happen in baseball?  :)

Hockey in OT is timeless it could go for hours or be over in seconds. Nothing beats hockey with this. You could even make an argument that a game seven of a conference championship in overtime is better than any other sport.
