Activities: Toledo - a day trip from Madrid to see 2 old Shuls. Can hire a tour guide (his contact info is somewhere in the thread), which is not cheap, or can take a train on your own. 1 of the Shuls is closed one day a week (Tuesdays?). @Yehuda went on a day when that Shul was closed, and the other Shul was really just an empty room and seemed like a Christian organization now runs the center. Without a tour guide, it was hard to get anything Jewish out of our trip (other than an antique store that had some Judaica). But, people who have taken the tour (discussed in the thread) have said it was great! Recommended to go with a tour or not go at all (and ensure to go on a day when both are open!). Report in the thread that the sometimes-closed Shul has audio headsets for use, so that would help.

Best way to get around anywhere in this country is by scooter. It is safer driving them there since they outnumber cars by great proportions.

$ 500 voucher I meant

Ah, that sounds better.
When is the expiration date? Sept 1?

 You might want to sell it if you don't end up using it on your upcoming trip.

Chaval to let it go to waste.

I'm THAT slow that I don't even know if I have miles from specific airlines. I do have a 500 couched from delta I need to use before sept
Just saying IMO the biggest perk of this website is to earn miles through credit cards and earn free flights and hotels through that. You may want to look into that.

Really, here I thought... You sure :P

The best points to use?
The best to use to earn points?
That would be the Sapphire. double points on travel. And if you book through travelocity or something through the Ultimate Rewards mall that's another 2 points per dollar.

Would this be the "questions for beginners" ? Or a whole new thread of it's own? ;)

Do you plan to use it often? You could take an unlocked smartphone with you and just get a prepaid sim there and make most calls over wifi.

Hey guys taking my wife on a trip to spain. We plan on flying to malaga spending shabbos in Gibraltar then seen seville, cordova, grenada, alecante, toledo, segovia and finally last shabbos by relatives in madrid. Any recommendations for hotels or things to see in or around theses citys, I rented a car with Europcar and will be driving this whole stretch. Anyone have experience with Europacar is there something i should know or be concerned with?

Also i would also like to know about cell phones. if i bring an unlocked phone i should just buy a prepaid? what if i call the states? do you know what cell bands spain uses?

TIA for any help and advice you can give me
