1995 and older cars don't need inspection in NJ. In 2020 will they make it from the year 2000? Or something like that

In NY, we don't have inspection stations. Any gas station with a little mechanic shop, or oil change place, (or standard mechanic) does it. Just find the one closest to the bridge that you're coming from.

Careful, if you go to someone unscrupulous they could recommend tires, brakes etc even if you don't really need it in the holes that you will use them for the repairs.

That's what I was concerned about... The car is old and in bad shape, it should pass legally but I don't want any issues.
