Got 2 confirmation emails and 1 cancelation and on the order that wasn't cancelled(yet), I got an email saying that the play doh was unavailable... but order is still intact so far...

Do y'all not remember that just a couple months ago, TRU sent out many many cancellation emails to people who ended up getting their items (and a refund)? I didnt get in on this but I wouldn't give up hope just from a TRU cancellation email...

We are a TRU vendor, and I got an urgent email this morning from their ecom team, asking us to cancel orders on an attached report and confirm.
The email was sent to a few hundred vendors all cc'ed, the report had all the orders combined in the same spreadsheet...

So does the cancellation e-mail only work if the vendors follow through and cancel on their end (assuming the item you ordered drop ships directly from the manufacturer and is not stocked in TRU DC)?

That's my assumption. Only around 20-30 orders belonged to us. Our shipping operations are closed today so I assume we will manage to cancel all tomorrow morning before shipping.

I haven't followed this deal closely, any other sites other than DD post this deal?

So data breaches don't need some Russian or Ukrainian expert hacking in. Only an idiot making a stupid move and sending out information to people that shouldn't see it.

It's very possible that this error was innocuous, but this type of error is what could bring about significant data breaches. Now they have an email list of TRU vendors with email addresses. A key ingredient in starting a phishing attack. And this time around, it might also have order numbers, so the phishing attack can look more legit, by referencing specific orders!

I wonder how a data breach that starts from this would play itself out now that TRU is under bankruptcy protection (IINM).

I got a cancellation/refund email at 4 am and a preparing for shipment email at 10 am.

Guess I will see if it actually ships...

...and I just got a new confirmation email on one of the "cancelled" orders, including items that were not on the original emails .
