I don't mean that they closed everyone's accounts but they made it a lot harder to do what they were doing. It was those people that were costing amex so much, not the random people signing up for a regular delta card.
I know their industry pretty well, I don't know anyone that was shutdown.

Don't confuse Financial reviews with abuse.

I'm well aware, I wasn't reffering to shut downs.

Alright, if you feel so strongly about it, why even ask?
The topic of this thread is about Delta clawback emails. My question was about personal plat NL, I wanted to know if anyone got the email besides Delta cards, or if anyone got clawed back on the PP NL, no shtick besides having received the bonus before.

Your response was off the cliff. Because that's totally b*******

Amex already shut down the people they were costing them the big $$, I don't think this crazy level of scrutiny on the average consumer is going to be worth it in the long run.

I'm well aware, I wasn't reffering to shut downs.
Huh?

DOC is reporting that grocery spending is also a risk, perhaps only if they report L3 data. Is anyone aware of any grocery chain that reports L3? Haven’t come accross one until now,...

Huh?
I wasn't referring to actual shutdowns of people's accounts, I was talking about amex shutting down the ability to game things the same way it was being done before.

Perhaps they don't want the MS type people. They generally cost Amex a lot in frequent sign up bonuses but don't provide long term revenue.
They want long term consistent spenders, and if you need MS to reach a 3k sign up bonus they probably wont make much on you long term.
I think you're understanding the value of "MS type people" to the banks. We're excellent marketers for their products.

In discussing various forms of travel hacking/MS schtick, several friends/family members have decided to apply for all sorts of CC's. They're drawn in by hearing about all the free stuff I've gotten but due to lack of time/patience never end up maxing out the valuable benefits for themselves.

I'm sure we all know friends/relatives who have CSR/Amex plats but don't even get around to redeeming the travel credits. Maybe they maintain one or more ink cards but hardly spend anything on 5x categories.

It kills me inside but I have friends who pay interest charges/late fees on CC's that I "convinced" them to get.

it should.
Never convince people who can’t handle credit cards to sign up for them. Now you should make it your business to explain to them how bad it is to pay credit card interest and help them get out if it.
All that if it REALLY kills you

I think there's a reason he wrote "convinced" in qoutes. (He prob was just discussing what he does with his miles and they got hooked).

So far that hasn't really happened across the board... Even other banks dont do that.

Chase does it.

I got an offer in the mail for 25k but when I tried upgrading online I got denied. So I called them and they told me they see an offer for 60k...

I want to use a no language offer that my mom received (same last name). Is it safe or have they started to crack down? Don't want to lose my stash of points...
