I guess you don’t read DDMS

He clearly writes:
AMEX emailed me and let me know that as part of their new agreement, they will be offering a “new consumer premium Card” and “enhanced small business Card” next year.

And:
I’m excited to see what kind of premium Marriott/Starwood card that AMEX will be able to pull off. Best of all, as a new product, everyone will be eligible for the signup bonus!

"A new" implies one new personal card.

"Enhanced small business card" also implies one card.

No plural used anywhere in that statement.

Based on this language, if they offered 2 new SPG cards, there would be no new Marriott cards. I assume that they at least plan on introducing a Marriott personal card. The enhanced business card could be Marriott or SPG.

As I said, the language does not explicitly say that there will be new SPG cards.

Any point in applying for one card over the other right now?

Is it a good time to apply for Marriott Biz? I guess it will go away soon.

Was wondering is it going to go away?
or is it going to turn into this new card?

Same thing, I just think about Citi Hilton which went away in one day and Amex took over everything 8 months later.

At least half seems made up to me.
+1, it's just his wild conjecturing under the guise of credit card advice, while the real reason is to sell CC apps.

Happened to me with Citi Hilton, when they lost to Amex I think Ben (or maybe not) published that its a good time to get this card.
I thought that it was BS and Citi Hilton will not go away that fast. It went away just a week after that post.

That doesn't mean anything.

It was already known that Citi lost the portfolio to AMEX.

For the SPG card, I'd hold out for another LTO or listen for actual rumors of it going away.

Do you think the Marriott Card will be turned into the Co branded card or will that be a whole new card

Here is a new update

http://viewfromthewing.boardingarea.com/2017/12/11/future-marriott-starwood-credit-cards

Per Gary:

"...On Tuesday Marriott told me, “both companies will continue to offer their current products and even after the new products are introduced, members may continue to use them.”..."
