Booked an award for someone who purchased here and he was a "no show," so Hyatt charged my credit card instead of debiting the award.  Other than recourse from the purchaser, is there anything else I can do to have Hyatt debit the award instead of charging me $700?

Call the hotel.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Why did you put your credit card on the reservation

Why did you put your credit card on the reservation

Great question.  I assumed the buyer would need to show a credit card at check in, and all charges would go there.  Unfortunately, because they're saying I was a "no show," that part never manifested.

Turns out the buyer did show up, and they have him as an authorized guest on my reservation and as having checked in, but they're saying because the second reservation (i.e. my account) didn't show up, they have to charge the card.

Any other ideas?

Don't hotels always ask for a credit card upon making a reservation? Can a gift card credit card be used instead?

So they give you their credit card number? Or do you have them call to make the reservation?

Why are there so many sign-up nights in this forum but so few anniversary nights?

Churning.

But then wouldn't it make sense to pay the annual fee to keep the card, and then sell the anniversary nights? I imagine that the cardholders would still turn a profit, and as a bonus, they would increase their credit score.
