Did ElAl notice? The airline will most certainly deny boarding if they notice the expired passport
Do you consider LY as an airline?!🤣🤣
They play their own rules. But I'm sure YMMV

So why would you think because it worked on LY it will work on another airline (even if it was direct)
Life isn't about checking the boxes. Nobody cares.

Your right I should correct my question.
In any case in not taking the risk and changing the ticket to depart 2 days  before the passport expires

Nah, they are not an airline, as the other companies all don't play by their own rules, never

If the passport is expired, why do you think they'll be able to fly?

Forgot to report back,
I made some research, spoke with someone who flew JFK-BRU on SN with his Belgian expired passport, and they didn't mention a word
In my case it was PS with a stop in KBP, help desk claimed she will be fine, so she decided to take the risk, and it worked out great! she arrived safely in TLV

Had this experience in the past but it was direct on ELAL.
I did it with a stopover in CDG on Pan Am.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Yeah. Those were the days when a JFK-HNL RT earned you triple miles which were sufficient for a HNL-JFK-TLV-JFK-HNL. And with paper tickets, rearranging segments wasn't too hard. ;)

Oh. Forgot to mention that since those were pre TSA days, I arrived at JFK about 20 minutes prior to departure (with an expired passport!)

Hey,
I think I'm OK, but I just want to be sure.
I am both an Israeli and US citizen.
I'm flying from TLV to NYC next week for a few days.
My Israelis passport expires in 2 months, but my US passport is good for a while.

Am I OK?
thanks to anyone who can help.

No reason why not.
